PLANTS

Željezara Split d.d. produces and treats the steel in three production plants : :

1. STEELWORKS

Manufacturing of steel beams with annual capacity of 185.000 t. Raw material for manufacturing of steel beams is used iron . The steelworks plant includes:

	preparation of gasket
	one 26 t electric arc furnace / EAF/
	one 26 t ladle furnace / LF/
	one continuous casting (two line) /CCM/

2. ROLLING MILL

Manufacturing of smooth and ribbed steel beams and the line for rolling of smooth and ribbed steel beams in discs .The entering raw material are steel beams produced in steel works plant. The rolling mill with the annual average capacity of 170.000 t of rolled goods has the following manufacturing units:

	- pressure furnace
	- pre-line
	- mid-line
	- final line
	- station for thermo treatment of wire
	- colding bed area
	- adjustment
	- line for wire rolling in discs
	(in phase of preparation)

3. CLD TREATMENT OF STEEL / HPČ/

Cold treatment of steel / HPČ/ is a separate plant of Željezara Split ,its integral part since 1988 .It is located in Split, in area called Mostine . The entering raw material is a part of products of rolling mills and wire bought on the market . Within further phases of treatment this plant produces 30.000 t per year of the following products:

- cold rolled steel / smooth and ribbed, in beams and in discs
- all kinds of forks
- welded armature nets
- fence wire nets and doors
- fine fence nets for poultry and
- nets for agriculture / growing of plants

Cold treatment of steel plant includes also :
- machines for cold rolling : TH-10 /1, TH-10/2, GHST-3 and GHST-5, total capacity 40 /schift ;
- machine for cold rolling ; EV-60; capacity 30 to 40 tons /shift
- machines for forming of nets ; G-3and G-8 that use cold rolled wire from the proper plant
- machine for manufacturing of fine nets : GZN that uses wire bought on a market
- machine for manufacturing of forks : Polybend, capacity 1 up 2 t/shift
.
